An unusual sale has just taken place with the disposal of 2 hydropower plants, including the Troussy plant in Millau, where the first industrial VLH turbine was installed. Its inventor, Jacques Fonkenell, made it his demonstration site when the machine was installed in 2007, with a capacity of 400 kW under a 2.48 m head. Over a 13-year period, this VLH turbine's availability rate exceeded 97%, producing 1.7 GWh/year of renewable energy in the very heart of Millau. Together with the Labarthe family, Jacques Fonkenell entrusted us with the sale mandate for Forces Motrices de Farebout, which also includes the St Léonard de Noblat plant on the Vienne. The latter hosted one of the first low-speed PMGA permanent-magnet generators, manufactured by MJ2 Technologies S.A.S. The buyers are members of the Taillefer family, who already own 2 hydropower plants.
